Level

Intermediate to advanced (depending on the chosen variant).

With Dila, makers will learn key sewing techniques such as making gathers, applying bias tape, creating a back slit with button closure, and setting in sleeves.
More experienced sewists will enjoy the added challenge of stitching the pleats and shaping the elegant lantern sleeve.

Fit

Dila strategically alternates between roomy and accommodating. There is plenty of ease at the bust, waist and hips, while at the same time we ensured a sophisticated silhouette by leaving the shoulder points in the right place and using a lantern sleeve to bring the wide long sleeves down to an elegant wrist cuff.

The long sleeves are meant to fall on the wrist. 
The short sleeve has a wide sleeve hem with a decorative pleat. 
On the sleeveless version, the armhole is sufficiently roomy.

Fabric choice

• Light to medium-weight fabrics that gather well

• Poplin cotton, linen, or thin wool for structured sleeves

• Viscose or other supple fabrics for a softer, draped effect

• Avoid thick or stiff fabrics
