Variations

Rava can be made into a sweater or a jacket. Here are some of her main features: 

• You can make her with as a long sleeve or a sleeveless version
• There are a lot of collar options! You can make her with a neck trim, a bomber collar, a high collar or with facing.
• You can choose for signature pockets or leave it simple without pockets

Level

Easy to Intermediate (depending on the chosen variant). Rava as a sweater is an excellent project for beginners. With no closures required, the construction stays straightforward. As a jacket with zipper she is also very suitable for a bit more advanced sewists!

Fit

Rava has a loose, oversized fit. The sleeves narrow toward the wrists and are finished with an elastic tunnel. It also sits a bit narrower at the hem due to the elastic tunnel. The sleeveless version has a boxy cut with oversized armholes.

Fabric choice

• Suitable for a wide variety of fabrics – most materials work beautifully for the jacket versions
• For thicker fabrics, make zipper placket and facing parts in a lighter fabric for easier sewing
• For zipperless sweaters, ensure the collar fabric is stretchy enough for the neckline opening
• Great results with knit fabrics such as jersey, jogging, French terry, or punta
• Light nylon for a cool retro look, or wool for a chic, collarless jacket
