SIZE CHART
FIND YOUR SIZE
Take your measurements and compare them to our size chart to see which size to print.
How to pick the right size for your sewing project?
1. Measure yourself or the body of the person you are going to sew for and write down the measurements.
2. For shirts, tops and dresses look at the bust circumference, for bottoms look at the hip circumference. Which size does your measurements fit the most? That's the size you need to print out. If you're sewing a fitted design, consider adjusting the waist circumference to your measured size on the pattern.
3. If you fall in between sizes, choose the larger size and adjust the pattern if desired. We recommend making a trial version first, so you can evaluate how many adjustments the garment needs.
WOMEN

How to determine your cup size:
1. Measure your upper bust circumference passing your back under your armpits above your bust at the narrowest possible part. Compare to the measurements in the table to see which size you should take. Take this size to print or trace.
2. Measure your full bust circumference across the widest part of your bust. Go down the column of the size you determined in step 1 until you find a measurement close to your full bust measurement.
TIP!
Measure yourself in a comfortable, well-fitting bra (without padding, unless that's what you always wear) for the most accurate measurements. When in doubt, take the larger size.

Have a question?
Filippa is more than just a handy bag — it’s a full-fledged part of your outfit. Wear it around the waist of trousers or a skirt, ideally as a matching set in the same fabric, or layer it over a dress for a bold accent. It’s also perfect for garments without pockets, when you still want your essentials within easy reach.
The largest version features a slanted bottom, allowing the bag to blend seamlessly with your silhouette and making it ideal to wear crossbody as well. Inside, you’ll find a hidden inner pocket to keep small valuables safe. There are also two additional versions: a smaller bag for tiny essentials, and a vertical version designed as a phone pouch.
The design consists of a doubled back panel with an integrated flap, onto which a cargo pocket is stitched. The belt pieces are attached to either side of the back panel. We chose an adjustable buckle as the closure, so you can easily adapt the fit to your outfit — with a loose strap adding an extra style detail.
Fabric choice
For Filippa, you can use any fabric you would normally choose for trousers. All medium-weight fabrics are suitable. Heavier fabrics such as denim work well too, but very thick fabrics like teddy or heavy coating fabrics are best avoided, as they are difficult to double.
Because the belt pieces and back panel are reinforced with fusible interfacing, you can also opt for a slightly lighter fabric. Keep in mind, however, that very delicate fabrics are less practical for everyday use.
Choose a fusible interfacing that is not too soft. Extra-thick bag interfacings are unnecessary. A medium-weight interfacing such as S320 or fusible cotton is ideal.
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND WASHING YOUR FABRIC BEFORE CUTTING.
Level
Filippa is a sewing project of intermediate difficulty. If you skip inserting the zippered inner pocket, the project becomes much easier. Stitching the cargo pocket isn't hard but it does require some precision and confidence at the sewing machine.

Fabric requirements
The fabric lengths charts show how much fabric you will need for all variations, calculated on a standard fabric width of 140 cm - 1.55 yd. If your fabric is narrower, you will need more fabric length. For broader or narrower fabrics you can calculate how much fabric you will need by laying out the pattern pieces on the table according to your fabric width and measuring how much fabric length you will need accordingly.

Variants
This pattern gives you the opportunity to make not 1, but several bags. Here is an overview of all the variants you can make with this set of pattern pieces.
